CONSAL XIV Organizing Committee of Vietnam announced today, 8 September 2009, the launch of 14th CONSAL General Conference website http://www.consal14.org. Intended to be the official communication channel of the Organizing Committee, CONSAL XIV General Conference website provides prospective speakers and participants with the theme and topics, conference venue, registration fees, accommodation and other useful information of the most important gathering of library and information professionals in the Southeast Asian region.

The CONSAL XIV General Conference website was launched in parallel with the new CONSAL Official Website http://www.consal.org at a ceremony jointly held by the National Library of Vietnam and CONSAL Secretariat and widely covered by Vietnamese televisions and national newspapers.

 One of the CONSAL XIV website prominent features is that website users can registered for the Conference online and get feedback immediately from the Organizing Committee. The website is also provided in both English and Vietnamese.

Schedule to be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, in April 2009, the 14th CONSAL General Conference is the first CONSAL conference to be held in the country since its admission to CONSAL in 2000. So far, Vietnam has successfully hosted two meetings of CONSAL XIV Executive Board in Hue (2007) and Ho Chi Minh City (2008).

The 14th General Conference is expected to attract about 600 participants from CONSAL members countries and other parts of the world.
