Congress of Southeast Asian Librarians

CONSAL XIV Organizing Committee of Vietnam announced today, 8 September 2009, the launch of 14th CONSAL General Conference website http://www.consal14.org. Intended to be the official communication channel of the Organizing Committee, CONSAL XIV General Conference website provides prospective speakers and participants with the theme and topics, conference venue, registration fees, accommodation and other useful information of the most important gathering of library and information professionals in the Southeast Asian region.

Organized by the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. and its National Capital Region Librarians Council in cooperation with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions / Committee on Free Access to Information and Freedom of Expression (IFLA-FAIFE), the International Conference on Information Access: Internet and Libraries opened  July 23 at the City Garden Suites, Manila.

The 35th anniversary of Association of Indonesian Librarians was commemorated on 7th July 2008 at auditorium hall of the National Library of Indonesia. The ceremony was the chance to remind of IPI history from its foundation on 7th July 1973 at Ciawi, Bogor until now under the leading of Mr. Dady P. Rachmananta, and to encourage librarians to make more contribution to the development of this country. Pictures of IPI history from 1973 to 2008 were also shown to the audience.
